The Gold Collection is a list of the absolute best legacy Sailormoon fanfiction in the ASMR Library. I am currently reading through all the legacy fanfiction in the Library and making a list of the stories that catch my eye in a special way, either through originality or high-level writing. Each week I will add five of those selections. Only completed legacy stories (no summary, labeled as a legacy story on the summary page) are eligible. There is a limit of three (3) selected legacy stories per author. There is no fanfiction hosted on this site. Each selected story is listed with its title and author, a short summary written by myself, and a link to its location in the archives of ASMR.
Legacy Stories
ASMR Legacy Stories are fanfics that were submitted to the site's library prior to the system upgrades of 2002. In most cases, the authors of these stories have left the fandom, and thus there is no summary data available for them. These are old tales that have been around so long that they've faded into obscurity, and I believe these fanfics deserve another chance in the light. I'm doing this to reconnect the fandom with its roots and to remind us of the gems of the past that have started collecting dust. They still shine as brilliantly as the diamonds of today if one dares to look. The aim here is to give old treasures a fresh audience.
The Process
I'm doing this as an old member of the fandom (1996-1999) who withdrew from the Internet community until 2003. As such, I missed much of the glory days of the fandom, and have not read most of the legacy stories in the Library and I consider myself a rather neutral critic. Please keep in mind that these stories will be selected based on my personal opinion. For each set, I choose the first five noteworthy stories I come across each week as I read through the Library, beginning with the start of the "A" section. Thus, some Gold Collection sets will feature better stories than others, but they will all have significant worth.
