Fighting the Tide by Goddess Althena
An AU Usa-Mamo romance fic set in 1940s Connecticut. Although it's nothing original, and the plot is not very inspired so far, the writing is good and the characters are flourishing as they slowly take shape with each new chapter. In other words, it's a very readable fic, a nice way to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon (0nce the author completes more chapters, that is...)

* A New Mission by Jessica Pendragon
A mysterious visitor prowls about the Crystal Palace, as he contemplates his existence and duty. As the title signifies, it's time for a new mission, and he has long outgrown his old. Up till the end, the identity of this visitor is not revealed, but all of us here would have no problem identifying him. A sense of wistfulness pervades this fic, and it's perhaps due to this that I was ensnared into this vignette. At the end, I found myself wishing that Jessica had lengthened the story, though it's probably the brevity of it that makes it so enjoyable.

* Pluto's Present by Heavenly Pearl
What to others may be an ordinary occurrence, such as getting presents for Christmas, to Sailor Pluto, who is condemned to guard the gates of time for all eternity, it may be a luxury. After all, Christmas is a time for families and friends to gather, and it's no wonder that Pluto would feel lonelier than ever on this special day. How would she feel then when she does receive a Christmas present? This one-parter gives us a glimpse of Pluto's inner world, as we find that, though she may be thousands of years old, she's as human as anyone. =)

Until We Meet Again by kurichan1666
This fic seems ironically appropriate in the wake of the environmental destruction going on in the world now. Everyday, we hear of global warming, El Nino effects, flooding, blizzards, plummeting temperatures, extinction of thouands of species of animals etc. But of course, we would not have Usagi performing the final sacrifice to restore the world for us. This is an AR fic which imagines how Crystal Tokyo could be built without Usagi. Although only 4 chapters are out for now, it certainly captured my attention with its fairly original take on the rise of Crystal Tokyo. One thing that I find fault with though, is the unnecessary Japanese added into the story. Still, the Senshi's and Mamoru's reactions to Usagi's sacrifice are sensitively portrayed, and it'll certainly be interesting to find out how things go on from there. But we're in for a long haul though...kurichan promised an epic, and I think that's what exactly we'll get.

* Fall (Version 2) by violintides
One of the better songfics that I've encountered recently. Usagi dies during a robbery, and Mamoru goes crazy... or is he really? I like the way the author keeps us guessing on the true nature of things, as it keeps me hooked onto the fic as well. Mamoru's distress is illustrated in detail and touched me with its pain. Do read. ^_^ BTW, the author has another similar version of this fic, though the main characters are Michiru and Haruka instead, but somehow, I feel that the emotions involved in the fic don't suit the 2 outer senshi as much as it does Usagi and Mamoru... perhaps because their image is usually more elegant, and their love more subtle, even if it is not less deep. The latter couple is more passionate and this makes the fic more convincing. Hence I recommended this instead of other version.
